Brock News:
The Badgers' women's hockey team led the first place Guelph Gryphons in the second period Thursday night by a score 4-0, however, they then allowed five straight goals, eventually losing 5-4. The women's next game is at Western on Nov. 3.
The women's basketball team went 1-1 on the weekend beating Ryerson, 90-72 for their first win of the exhibition season, and then falling to the University of Alberta, 75-57.
Brock's women's volleyball team travelled to both Guelph and McMaster only to lose both of their games on the weekend, 3-0 and 3-1, respectively.
The men's rugby team won their first playoff game over Royal Military College by a score of 26-0. The men will now attempt to revenge their earlier season loss when they travel to Hamilton to face McMaster in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) semi-finals.
Women's wrestling finished strong at the Sunkist International as Jessica Bondy (51kg) finished third overall, and Alana King (48kg) and Michelle Fazzari (59kg) each placed fourth overall. Brock assistant coach and Olympic medalist, Tonya Verbeek, captured gold at 55kg.
Rowers Fraser Berkhout and Brittany Ellis were named Henley Honda Brock Athletes of the Week.
Berkhout won two gold medals at the OUA Rowing Championship in the men's heavyweight singles and doubles.
Ellis helped lead the Badger women's heavyweight four to a silver medal.

The National Basketball Association regular season starts on Tuesday but the Toronto Raptors first action comes on Wednesday when they host the Philadelphia 76ers at 7 p.m. live at the Air Canada Centre.
The Raptors will set out looking to improve on last year's finish that saw them manage first place in the Atlantic Division and third in the East.
