Brock News:
The Brock men's basketball team heads into playoff action on Feb. 27 when they host divisional rival Guelph Gryphons in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) West Semi-Finals.
The men have become hot at the right time, currently on a five-game winning streak, four of which have been at home, including a win over the McMaster Marauders on Feb. 20 at the Bob Davis Gymnasium.
Leading the Badgers was senior, Brad Rootes, who dropped 23 points, eight assists and seven boards in his final OUA regular season game. He finishes his OUA career ranked fourth all-time with 1,704 career regular season points. Roots also finished the season second in OUA three-pointers made, assists, steals and free throws made. Rootes finished fifth in OUA scoring and seventh in free throw percentage.

The women's basketball team fell short in the first round of the OUA playoffs on Feb. 16 to the Waterloo Warriors by a score of 45-41.
Brock was leading at the half before being outscored 14-6 in the third quarter. The game could have had a different outing if the Badgers had not shot a season low 1-for-11 from behind the arc.
Kaila Agius ended her illustrious five-year tenor with the team by adding 16 points and 10 boards for a double-double.

Both Brock's wrestling teams won OUA championship gold at McMaster University last week.
Marty Calder was named both men's and women's coach of the year and female Alana King received Outstanding Female Wrestler honours.
For the men, Aaron Fabiano, C.J. Hudson, Peter Simons, Paul Rabjohn, Alex Brown-Theriault and Michael Neufeld all achieved first place honours. Earning a first place finish for the women were: Alana King, Jessica Bondy and Michelle Fazzari.
