This image was explained to be the depiction of a "brutally violent photo of European bull fighting" by one unhappy citizen via mass e-mail.
While I disagree with the assessment of the graphic, it's far from the point.
At 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 12, the academic policy meeting was about to commence, only to have those running it be met at the door with the same posters, with some disgruntled people's alterations.
On the new posters, phrases like "BUSU supports murder" and "BUSU supports cruelty" were written on them.
Two things came to mind when I saw this; 1) That the connection that BUSU supports these things could even be fathomed reaches far beyond my intellect, because really, how off the wall must one be in order to make that correlation, and 2) why would you put up the posters and run?
Would it have not been far more productive to stay and engage in some type of discussion over this issue that has got you so hot under the collar?
As an outsider to the situation I couldn't help but think that if it had been me, I would give absolutely no credit to whoever left these posters, nor would I manage any type of strength to take them seriously at all.
So to whomever left those posters, you've done nothing but embarrass yourselves. You haven't done a good job, you don't deserve a high five when you run back to your pack proud that you weren't seen and you certainly haven't helped any cause towards any injustice you feel has been done.
If you're that passionate about this topic, why are you wasting your time with a harmless, innocent graphic that in no way, shape or form was meant to represent whatever it was that you saw?
If you truly want to prove to me that I should listen to what you have to say, stick around to tell me the ins and outs of your complaint.
If you simply tuck your tail and run, well, it`s time to go back to activism school - because you haven`t accomplished anything.
