What do you feel is the strongest aspect of your platform for the 2010-11 year, that you feel will benefit students both now and in the future?
I have lots of new ideas for BUSU; one being "One Bite at a Time". One Bite At A Time is a program that will provide healthy eating option and information, start a student Food Bank, work with the current Food Voucher program, and partner with The Good Box Program. One Bite at a Time will help address student hunger and financial assistance for students; two very important issues. Further explanation at www.liannebradley.com
How will you address the issue of student apathy on campus?
I will hope to continue addressing student apathy by creating a wider range of services, events, and programs that students can get involved in. By creating new associations (ex. MAPS) and committees (ex. ASEC) it will allow more students to get involved in different aspects of student life. Also continuing to expand our marketing department, and reach out to students through as many means of communication as possible (twitter and facebook) will decrease student unawareness.
In your view, what should BUSU's role be in every student's day-to-day life?
I will hope to continue addressing student apathy by creating a wider range of services, events, and programs that students can get involved in. By creating new associations (ex. What is the biggest change you would like to see in BUSU in the upcoming year?
I would like to see GROWTH and EXPANSION for BUSU in physical space and services / businesses provided. BUSU needs to grow with the needs and demands of students; services like Badger Books, One Bite at a Time, MAPS, ASEC and more are needed to help with student success. Student space is also extremely important, I would like to see BUSU advocate for more student space, and start plans for a new student centre! www.liannebradley.com
