What do you feel is the strongest aspect of your platform for the 2010-11 year, that you feel will benefit students both now and in the future?
I feel that I have a very strong platform overall because my goals are specific and manageable. I feel the strongest part of my platform is the concept of "bridging the gaps". This initiative is to bridge the gaps between Brock Students and the St. Catharines community, as well as bridging the gaps between Brock Students (On Campus, Off Campus, International, and Commuters).
How will you ensure that students both on and off campus are involved with the Student Union and its events?
Once I successfully bridge this gap (mentioned above), I hope that every student feels that every event is designed for them. The key to involvement is awareness! It is vital to use all resources that Brock has to offer (Brock Press, Brock T.V., Clubs). I would also like to email students once a semester to inform them about upcoming events. We must keep all students "in the loop" to expect them to participate in anything.
How do you envision your relationship with clubs in the upcoming year?
As a former President, Treasurer and General Member of many clubs at Brock, I know the importance of a strong relationship with the V.P.S.S. I see the foundation of our relationship being built on a mutual understanding of what exactly that club has as their mission and what they want to accomplish for the upcoming year. I will attend at least one meeting and event that every club has to offer to Brock Students.
In what ways will you be visible through the year other than during Frosh Week and Frost Week?
As V.P.S.S. there is SO much more than Frosh and Frost Week. I will be visible in the St. Catharines Community and Brock Community with all the initiatives that I have in store. If I am not seen (which I doubt), trust me... I will be heard! I may be busy and tired... but I always have time to walk and talk (and even laugh.) Open door policy, I promise.
