What do you feel is the strongest aspect of your platform for the 2010-11 year, that you feel will benefit students both now and in the future?

I want to create a stronger foundation of tradition and my platform emphasizes the need for the creation of events and other unifying activities to allow this. Brock University needs to have events that unite Brock students as a whole: such as a pep rally. Also, I believe that there is a need for some departmental specific actions that could promote the welcoming of new students and uniting and empowering those already attending Brock University.

How will you ensure that students both on and off campus are involved with the Student Union and its events?

There are many things that hinder the students from participating in events that the Student Union and the university create.  I plan to look into transportation issues especially for events for on/off campus students depending on where the event is. I also believe that the event has to be more appealing to the student body for participation. Finally, I believe through the promotion of pride in Brock, students will participate more readily.

How do you envision your relationship with clubs in the upcoming year?

I envision my relationship with clubs being a strong bond that will rely on communication from both ends. I believe that the clubs coordinator and myself will strive to create the best environment for clubs to succeed.  I know that each clubs has very specific and unique needs. It is not my place to tell clubs what they can do; it is my place to help them do what they want to do.

In what ways will you be visible through the year other than during Frosh Week and Frost Week?

I am not a person who likes being my office. I would much rather be visible and at events; whether it is a house party, sports game, club event, or any other BUSU or Brock related event.  I also believe that any executive should not be just visible at their events, but support the events of the other executives. With these events and plans, I know that I will be more than just visible.
