Brock's men's hockey team faced off against University of Guelph on Jan. 28 without a key member of their starting line up - a member that had played 21 games for Brock so far this season - their goalie.
Brock student and goalie, Mark Yetman, is facing multiple charges by Niagara Regional Police Service following the investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a St. Catharines woman.
Yetman, a 21-year-old Thorold resident, was arrested on Jan. 26. Continued investigation linked Yetman to an alleged second sexual assault against a Thorold woman in December 2009.
Formally number 31 on the Brock Badgers men's hockey team, Yetman is originally from Mount Pearl, NL. He was suspended from the team Jan. 27, once word of the charges had reached the school.
Yetman was originally charged with two counts of sexual assault, but upon further investigation, he is now facing additional charges. It was determined that the alleged sexual assault on Jan. 26 involved two female victims.
As such, Yetman is charged with three counts of sexual assault, two counts of choking and one count of threatening.
After a bail hearing on Jan. 29, Yetman was remanded in custody pending a court appearance on Feb. 1.
